  • Hey Angie!  I'm going to be at Convention 2014 ... hopefully you'll be there, too!  It would be nice to see you!

  • Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  • Hi Angie! Yes, I am a night owl. I catch up on my TV time and do my e-mail at the same time. :)

Congrats on your new recruit and on all of your business ventures! That is fantastic! I do remember Shadelands but I have never been there. Good luck with your booth! I am hoping to do a Christmas craft fair this year.

It's too bad you aren't going to convention, it would have been lovely to see you again.
  • Angie, are you going to Convention this year? This is my first time going and I'm really excited that I'm finally able to attend!
  • Interesting, yes, I have found it difficult to book workshops, especially in this small wealth community. I was making cards and selling them for a while, as no one wanted to book a workshop or come to a class, they just wanted to buy what I was making! I did a bunch of fundraising for different things at the kids school and now that they are at the intermediate and high school level, they don't do as much of that. Right now I am putting together a fitness journal, for myself, to keep me focused on getting the the gym 4 times a week. I met with a trainer last Saturday, someone who is going to check in with me once a month, to get me going in the right direction, and then I just have to do all the work. I basically just need to build up my stamina and work on my core. My age is showing! When you have a sedentary job ( I sit in front of a computer all day) and then have sedentary hobbies, (scrapbooking, reading, quilting, knitting, etc.) I find I really have to push myself to get out and do something, and I really haven't been especially with all the winter weather we've been having. I just want to be a little more mobile and fluid in getting my body going.
I bought a Sixxiz Big Shot, but I got a motorized one, and I have been enjoying playing with that. I love all the alphabets I can do for scrapbook pages, and cards, and the boys use it for posters for school projects. Today we are actually unpacking more scrapbooking stuff and finding places to put everything. I am trying to organize all my books and stacks of magazines that I have saved from over the years, ( I love to look through them and get visually stimulated) onto the bookcases we have in the kids room. We had many books leftover from when they were in elementary school, and we're just not using them, so we donated them to the upcoming garage sale the high school is having. Enjoy your week!
  • I'm so glad to hear that your mom is on the road to recovery!

I did pick up a couple of the new clear mount stamps. Well Scripted, Love Bandit, and With All My Heart. I think I will stick with them due to the cost savings as well as the storage savings. It took some practice getting used to them. At first I was not pushing the stamps hard enough on the acrylic block and they kept falling off.

I consider myself a hobbyist with big dreams of building up my business! I do classes here and there ... mostly with friends ... but no workshops. I know workshops are best for building up sales, but it's hard to get them booked.
  • Hi Lisa,

I do still have my fun cabinet! It is actually full to brimming and I have stamps spilling out of baskets in the shelves right next to my cabinet.
My Mom is doing better, she severed the patela tendon in her left knee and had surgery and had to learn to walk again. She is now driving and getting around, slower albeit, but back on her feet.

Instead of making new year's resolutions I have decide to just finish projects from previous years. I have a couple of albums I would like to finish up. I have become basically a hobbiest. Has your business grown? What do you think of the company changing to the clear stamps? I just got a shipment today, and they look interesting, and certainly won't need as much storage space!

    Blessings,
    Angie
  • Hi! I'm so glad you remember me. You are one of the first people I met when I lived in Walnut Creek. I'm glad to see you're still stamping! Do you still have that awesome stamp cabinet with the drawers? I loved that!

We had to leave the Bay Area because my husband got a job transfer, but we are back in Orange County where my friends and family are. We bought our first house a few months ago! It needed some work, but we've been doing the work gradually since we're doing it all ourselves. Are you glad to be done with remodeling? :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Is she doing alright now? My dad battled cancer last year and thankfully he is now cancer free. I was glad to be living nearby so I could be there for him and my mom.
