  • Hi Lisa, wishing you a Happy New Year!
  • It would be wonderful to see you again! With the way the economy has been going and since I am currently not at work, we just couldn't swing it. They had a Business Builders thing come around to Oakland the other year and I signed up and went to that, which I discovered is like a 'mini' convention as they share alot of the same information. I enjoyed that alot, and it was much better on the pocket book! I remember when I went to the one when it was in Las Vegas, they had almost 10,000 demonstrators there, it was pretty overwhelming. I don't think as many people are going, with the downed economy, and the last couple I went to were in Utah, and it was more of an intimate group. You ran into the same people and had them in your classes, and had lunch with them, it was really nice. I was a wonderful opportunity to meet so many people from so many countries. I sat on the plane with someone who flew down to San Francisco and then transferred to the flight I was on to get to Utah. We had a very nice chat. My new recruit just left, we covered lots of business agenda stuff and I walked her through the websight, so I am going to get some lunch and go make some cards! Hugs, Ange
  • Lisa (smile) you are a night owl just like me! I am not going to convention this year. Not in the budget! You will have a wonderful time. I remember my first convention, it was very emotional, as I actually was signed up for convention before I got my kit.
I am taking a leap to sell some of my cards at the Historical Society's craft fair in June. I don't know if you remember the house on Ygnacio Valley Road, called The Shadelands Ranch Museum. I have been making cards to get ready, and trying to figure out how to set up my table to attract folks. This is the first time that I have actually signed up for a booth, so I'll see how it goes, as to whether I sign up for another one.
I signed up a demonstrator at the end of March, so she is coming over tomorrow to have some one on one time and to give her some ideas about starting her business. She has been on leave, as she had some surgery, from her job and they reorged everything while she was gone. She was working the night shift and they have said she has to go back on days starting May 1st. There is a new manager, who has let go 4 supervisors and 50 people in the department, so she said she can see the writing on the wall. She was just going to be a demonstrator for fun, as a hobby and is now thinking maybe she will put more effort into it, and do it full time.
I just put in my Sale-A-Bration order, and am going to place a supply order at the end of the week. I am having a couple of my gals over on Saturday, May 1st for National Scrapbooking Day. I have started planning goodie bags for them, and what type of food to have out. We are going to do a couple of make and takes. I am looking forward to having some scrapbooking time, as I have been working so much on cards of late. I am trying to complete elementary school albums for my younger boys, as I have the one for my older son, and his high school album completed.
    Take it easy! Hugs, Angie
  • Hi Lisa, I do remember you! I hope you're enjoying SoCal. I have become more of a hobbiest in the last couple of years as I needed to take a year off and care for my Mom, and then we remodeled the entire downstairs portion of our home. I am just finishing the unpacking of all of my stamping and scrapbooking stuff so that I can get back into my personal scrapbooking. What are you up to? Thanks for befriending me!
