  • Hi Rachelle,

Thank you for your lovely comment. I have posted more details on the wetland sunset card on the photo. But not sure how this site site works and if it notifies you that I have left a response to your comment.

Anyway in answer to your questions......

I used sponge daubers to create the sunset, ink colours used;  real red , summer sun, cherry cobbler, chocolate chip. black stazon on whisper white card stock. Lots of sponging to build up the intensity of the colours especially the yellow.

    HAve fun with this one.

    Laura :)

  • Your Welcome Rachelle! I can't wait to see how your's turns out!  My group loved it and everyone's card came out beautifully.

  • Hi Rachelle,

Thank you for your comments on my first card submitted to this site.

The Technique used to color the roses is simply water coloring with the ink pad.  I Used only Real Red for this entire card.  Use less ink for lighter color and less water on the brush with more ink for darker colors.  I started with the lightest amount of color, then applied a little more ink to the brush for the medium color, then finished the shaded areas with little water on the brush and loaded it with more ink.. Cut the roses out and adhere to a piece of 5.25 x 4" whisper white card stock stamped with En Francais Background stamp.  Adhere this to a A2 size card base from Whisper White card stock. Edged with Real Red.

  • Hi Rachelle,

I wanted some inspiration and strolled through a lot of your samples today. It's so handy to have you as my friend so I can access your cards when I want a creativity boost, ;).  Among others, today I loved your 2012/04/09 Mother's Day card with the image heat embossed before colouring.  I agree with you that it gives more depth than just Stazon plus colouring.  Because of that card, I've decided to create something with Baja, Indigo, and Razzleberry today!  I'm so glad you're so creative and willing to share it here on SC.

    Smiles to you today, Irma.

  • Hi Rachelle, You're very welcome... I'm glad I was helpful to you.  IHTH is:  I hope that helps; LOL!  We all catch on to this lingo, eventually, eh?!  :)  Anyway, I'm happy to help!  Have a great week! Warmly, Donna

  • Love your snowman card!

TIP:  When tagging, if you'll put each word or group of words together, each inside quotation marks, they will stay together appropriately and make it easy for us to search your sample by name!  IHTH!  :)

  • Thanks, Rachelle, for thinking of me!  To answer your question, no, unfortunately, I won't be going to Convention this year.  :(  However, my upline, Elaine Carter, has graciously offered to take my SWAPS when she goes to Convention- how nice is that?!  So, who knows, if you end up chatting with someone from Canada, it may be Elaine and she may be swapping my card front with you...  that's a neat possibility to contemplate, eh?

    Have a great day!

    smiles from Irma

  • Rachelle,

I am so sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I did not realize I needed to scroll down to the bottom of my page. I do use sticky strip to adhere the bags together. Have you gotten to try making the goodie bags? Have you been able to find the bags?

Let me know if you have any questions. I will remember to check at the bottom of My Page.

  • Rachelle,

Glad you like my Happy Bird-day goodie bag. The bag/box part can be made one of two ways. You can use the Big Shot box #2 and cut off the top, and attach between the top notes. - or - You can use a small paper sack (3.5" x 2" x 6.75"). Cut the sack down to be 3" tall, and attach between the top notes. I use the sack, so I can tie the handles together. If you use the box, that's hard to do.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Hi Rachelle... Thanks for the comment on my faux metal card -- I don't mind at all if you case it. Thanks for the comment!
P.S. I love that simple card with the red hearts you have in your sample -- so pretty!
