Hi Joanne,
It is a small world! I am also participating in the Recruiting Challenge and I saw your post. I go to Grand Rapids all the time! My son lives off Clyde Park & my parents live in Cedar Springs! I am excited to see a fellow Michigander in the challenge. I have been a demo for 2 yrs. & 4 months. Like you, I do classes & occasional workshops, really want to do some expanding. It is tough in these times, don't give up! I live just outside of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan now (Fire Up Chips!) in Riverdale, about an hour from G. Rapids. I also have done every type of craft known to man, especially painting with acrylics. I have learned to stay away from the craft stores though...glad I don't live in Grand Rapids...that would be tough! Good luck with your recruiting, keep me updated as I would love to hear about your successes!
