  • Hi Jan! I had made two different types of flowers for those swaps, so I'm not sure which one you got....regardless, I'll give instructions for both. Both can be made using either our DSP or our cardstock. The cardstock is a bit heavier so is a little harder to work with, but still turn out very nice.

One was done with 10 layers of punch-outs using the Scallop Circle Punch. Doing 2 at a time, I snipped in between the scallops about 1/4" towards the centre. Then I stacked them one on top of the other in a neat pile, but I alternated them a bit so that the scallops were all off kilter and not directly one above the other.

Using the Crop-a-dile, I punched a small hole in the very centre and placed a small brad through it....any size of brad would work. Then starting with the first (top) layer I pulled it up from the lower layers and scrunched it together. (At first, it looks like you're wrecking it, but once you keep going with each layer, it starts to form a nice-looking flower.) Continue with the pulling up and scrunching with all 10 layers, and Voila!, you're done! I then used the glue stick to adhere it to the card.

    The other was made with our circle punches -- 2 punch-outs using the 1 3/4" punch; 2 punch-outs using the 1 3/8" punch; 3 using the 1 1/4" and 3 using the 1".

I used a spray bottle to spray them with water and then crinkled them up into a ball - this is done with each punch-out individually, and not all together. Straighten them out again and let them dry - (you could still carry on when they are wet, but I found it worked a bit better when they're dry first). Once dry, stack them one on top of the other with the biggest circles on the bottom.

From here, the instructions are the same - make hole in centre and place brad, then scrunch up towards the centre the first layer, then second, etc.

I hope this all makes sense, Jan. Let me know if you need further clarification. Have a great weekend!!!

    L ~
