  • Debi, just sent you the SAB Glittery Blinkie via Stampin' Connection Mail

  • Hi Debi -

For some reason I was having difficulty with sending you my reply on stampin' connection.

It all jumbled together, and left part of the message off. So, I will try here.

When I do the crops, all of my dies, punches and ink pads are numbered. I have a master list with all of the names of the punches, dies and inks pads, and then I have them all assigned a number.

Each of the tables at the crop event are numbered, so when the ladies want to check out an item, I write their name down, and the table number they are working at.

Then, during the event, I walk the floor and visit the tables that my product is checked out to. I make sure that if the ladies have any questions, or are having difficulty using a product I'm there to help them. This is great for networking as well.

I've never had a product disappear, or be stolen.

The one table that is for cardmakers only is the table I spend the most time at, though. That intrigues the scrapbookers, so they show a lot more interest in what I might be talking about, or showing. Plus, I have special perks for the cardmakers at the event. This is something that I clear with the event organizers, first though.

I do cash & carry for retired cardstock and dsp. I actually buy 2-3 extra packages of retiring cardstock & dsp so that I have it specifically for crop events.

I usually end up selling almost all of it.

It sometimes takes doing your first crop event to really find out what you need for being successful at these types of events.

The first one I did was with another demonstrator. We worked well together, and made sure that what we took to the event didn't compete with each other.

I think the most important thing is making your table space "eye-catching" so that the ladies WANT to go to your table.

I always take a couple of sample scrap books with me, and then I take a large card sample display board. I use brightly colored table clothes, AND I ALWAYS have CHOCOLATE candies at my table. Having a chocolate basket will always get the ladies to the table.

I also sell AVON, so I always have lotions available for the ladies to buy, or "test". Working with cardstock and other craft items can really dry out the hands, so I find this is a big attraction. I also have lip balms available for purchase because some of the venues can have very dry air.

Find what you can to make your table eye-catching and more attractive than Creative Memories, etc...I've never been anywhere where those demos go the extra mile to make their tables fun and appealing.

Good luck. If you have any other questions, just let me know.
