  • Vangie, thank you very much for your vote of confidence.  I had fun doing this project and it was a great surprise to me to be asked and an honor as well.  I really should have written down my instructions for making the box but I did not.  I winged it when I made it so I am going to tell you one of the ways it could be made.  I measured out a piece of cardstock 4 inches larger on all sides bigger than I wanted it,  In this case I cut it 8 1/2 x 10.  I scored at the 1" and 2", turned it, scored again at 1" and 2" and did this until all four sides were scored.  I folded it similar to the matchbox die cut  if you are familiar with that, just that my corners are not trimmed in like that.  I did have to do some trimming on the corners though.  This made my sides doubled.  Make sense yet?  For the end piece I cut a piece of cardstock big enough to go around the box plus 1/2 inch.  This should give me a piece 11 1/2 which of course I had to use the larger cardstock.  I scored it at the 4 1/2 mark, 5 1/2, 10 and 11.  This should wrap nicely around one end of your box and make a pocket (I guess you could call it). Cannot remember how wide I made that piece but you can adjust the size to your likings just so the cards will fit inside without a struggle. Then decorated it.  They don't show it but I stamped the bird in the bottom of the box as well.   Actually was very easy.  The box would be a inch deep all the way around.  Hope this helps you  Thanks again for your interest.  Nancy

  • Hello! I am a fellow Stampin Up! demonstrator from Vancouver, Wa and wanted to tell you about a wonderful place that would be great to hold classes or weekend retreats for your business. I have always had a hard time finding places to hold classes, meetings or workshops for my Stampin Up! business. So I decided to solve that problem….I have opened up a house that is specifically for this purpose. I am trying to get the word out about it and also some feedback. If you would take a look at my website and see what you think….leave me some feedback on the email on it or here I would really appreciate it.
The house can accommodate about 25-30 for a class and 8 for a weekend retreat. I am really excited about the potential this could bring to all of our Stampin Up! business and have had wonderful results on the classes I have held there already….
And I would like to extend an introductory half price offer to you for holding your next event at the house. Just leave me a comment and I will send you a voucher for half off a rental 
    The website is www.thehouseinsc.com
    Thanks,
