Hi Linda, I am all excited in getting to SLC too. I was just cruising for airfare and I liked to have a heart attack. grrrr. Yes, I am hosting a black and white. I just posted on Stampin' Connection. Silly me I don't even know how to get the 'Started by" name complete. It comes up Started by You. duhhh. Maybe some consoling soul will help me. Hahaha. Anyway, I have reservations at the Shilo as well. And, coming in Tuesday, the 17th. See ya there. Jane in Phx
Hi Linda, I am so bad at getting on Stampin' Connection. Now after three+ months, I am here and will be on here for about the rest of the night (LOL). I am planning on going to convention. I hope to get my black and white swap going again. It was soooo cool last year being my first one I organized. I did not get that mini conference going. I still would like to do it though.
Hope you are enjoying your retirement. Keep in touch. pinkpigy@aol.com Jane from Phoenix AZ
Hi Linda!
Thanks for the kind comments and taking the time to "visit". I do not have a video tutorial but I did post a written tutorial on my blog (http://stampingwithjuliegearinger.blogspot.com/search/label/Bow%20M... )
I hope this helps :-)
Thanks again and have fun with your bows- God Bless!

P.S. Yes, you did to post a pic of your "helper" :-)
Of course you are an educator! Who else would make such a fabulous card. I'm a retired teacher too. I taught in Akron, Ohio, for 13 years then I got my Ph D and took a job teaching at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I fully retired 2 years ago and discovered the joys of stamping!!! I surely understand the craziness of starting school.
I'm glad you like my Thanksgiving card, but it is way short of your Kimono Kids project. I have used the technique on the Thanksgiving card for several others. It's not really complicated, but it looks it. The background is made with the "splash" stamp from the Extreme Elements stamp set on pg 89. At first I thought it was a goofy set and couldn't imagine using it much. Now it is one of my favorites! (funny how that happens). So you can create the background with 3 or more colors (i.e. Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, More Mustard, Crumb Cake) you like using random stamping. The little wavy thing and the dots can be used too - just experiment. If you're going to make a lot do large sheets and the cut them. Then with a dark color, stamp the images you wish to accent. I used Autumn Splendor. Then you can spritz it with the Gold Smooch Spritz. I think the results are awesome. I also made a surfer card using blues for the collage and a solid black surfer from pg 88 with the vanilla smooch for a "masculine card" swap, which was a pretty well-received swap. SO...have some fun with it. I think it has lots of potential for many projects, and it amazes people with the results. Thanks for asking. I'll look forward to meeting you next July. I plan to attend Lisa's dinner party next year. I'm already on her list. The next night we are going to take Lisa to dinner. Want to join us? I attend the convention with 2 other San Luis Stampers. They loved your card too!
Yours,
Suzy
I just ADORE!!!! the Chinese Valentine Day/Daughter's Festival SWAP you contributed to the Hilton Dinner event that Lisa but together. It is the most amazing card I received. All my stampers back home go WOW or OMG when they see it, and then they open it up and about faint. I've done it at a Stamp Camp and cut enough for 30 at once, so I can appreciate the work you put into your exceptional swap. Now I'm thinking of doing something with the aliens, robots, monsters - especially around Halloween. Then there are the Halloween stamp sets. You've really started something, and I like it lots! Thank you so much! Oh, by the way, Happy Belated Chinese Valentine's Day.
