  Hi! I ironed on some fusable web - heavy duty wonder-under - and then die cut the shapes. Peel off the backing of the iron-on, and iron it on :-) and then yes, you can sew the edges, or if you use the heavy duty iron-on you can actually leave them as is - just specify that cold, delicate cycle will be best when washing (decorative use prob best :-). You could do decorative embroidery, or machine stitching, or sew on embellishments - buttons, the felt butterflies... a fun project!
